Daily NEWS [03.15.10] Girls Generation’s TaeYeon is casted in the musical ‘Song of the Sun’



Girls Generation member, TaeYeon has been casted into the musical ‘Song of the Sun’ as the female lead, Kaoru, causing a lot of attention in Korea.

According to the Seoul City Musical team, along with the news that TaeYeon had been casted, they also announced, “The musical ‘Song of the Sun’ will be the first attempt of musical that the popular, cute, and great singer TaeYeon will make.”

Song of the Sun is about a love story between girl who has the disease known as Xeroderma Pigmentosum, which make it hard for her to go out in the morning, and a boy who lives under the sun because he loves the surf so much. This is will be based on a Japanese novel. In Japan, after being announced as a novel, it was turned in a TBS drama, and then in 2006, it was turned into a movie, winning a lot love from the public.

Yu HeeSung leader from the Seoul City Musical team stated, “Early in debut, with the looks and humor being the top priorities, seeing TaeYeon made us think different and then we realized that she was a skilled singer, and I kept on thinking of TaeYeon while I was reading the ‘Song of the Sun’ novel. After discussing the matters the with company, the casting was confirmed. As much as I trust her, I believe that she will fulfill the role of Kaoru.”

Meanwhile the musical ‘Song of the Sun’ will be performed in the SaeJong Media Center M Theater from May 7th until the 29th.
